Kristian Hammond, a co-founder and CTO of the groundbreaking startup Narrative Science, is an accomplished researcher in the areas of human-machine interaction, context-driven information systems, and artificial intelligence. In 1986, he founded the University of Chicago`s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and in 1998 formed Northwestern University`s Intelligent Information Laboratory (InfoLab).
The proprietary content generating software Dr. Hammond helped create for Narrative Science is profoundly changing the way companies -- from sports franchises to financial markets -- interpret and use their own data and metrics, and to understand that data as stories. His focus is on how technology can radically transform the way we live and how we can work with the machine to better understand our world. Dr. Hammond holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Yale University.
