Nick Lewin was born in London, England and began studying magic at the age of eleven, or as he likes to put it, he wasted the first ten years of his life. By the time he turned 17 he was performing on a regular basis and had developed the blend of comedy and sleight of hand that has remained his stock in trade to this day.

After finishing his education at London's prestigious "Guildhall School of Music & Drama" Nick booked a short run on a luxury cruise ship and fell in love with traveling the world. He made the decision to move to the United States and in 1974 arrived in California with his bag of tricks, ready to take on the world. He is still doing it one show at a time.

Lewin quickly made a name for himself performing in America's showrooms and became a popular opening act in the Las Vegas casino market. He became a regular on the television talk show circuit in addition to his acting roles in television series including Dynasty, Kung Fu: the Legend Continues, Amazing Stories, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Trapper John MD, Perfect Strangers and Misfits of Science.

Most recently Nick performed for the IBM national convention at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas before 7,500 attendees. He is a highly sought after corporate entertainer and performs highly specialized shows for an impressive array of Fortune 500 clients. He turned sand into integrated circuits for Advanced Micro Devices, channeled Albert Einstein via a laptop for Toshiba, and magically produced a 38-foot diesel truck for Western Star Trucks.

Lewin headlined in comedy clubs across the country for many years and this training allowed him to perfect the comedic skills that are such an integral part of his success as a magician. Nick has been featured on HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central with his unique blend of stand up comedy and variety. One of his appearances on the comedy show "Wise Guys Tonight" was nominated for an "ACE" award, which is cable television's highest form of recognition.

Nick became such a frequent performer in Las Vegas that he decided to try his hand with his own 75-minute one-man show. In a city built on feathered costumes and sequined dancers the simplicity of his approach was initially considered quite radical. However his show was a critical and commercial success and a two-month gig ended up as an award-winning run of nearly five years.

During this Las Vegas engagement Nick put his love of movies to good advantage and produced his own nationally syndicated radio show "The Entertainment Files". The "E Files" combined celebrity interview with movie review and became one of the very first radio shows to be available as a downloadable Internet broadcast. The show was eventually adapted to video and 26 episodes were filmed for Fox Television. He is currently editing some of the more memorable interviews for his website.

Today Lewin continues with his eclectic style of mixing remarkable magic and sophisticated comedy at the cutting edge where business meets entertainment. In 2001 he introduced his unique speaker program "Thinking Around Corners" which allows his audience a rare glimpse behind the scenes into the world of magic and introduces them to some of the "secrets behind the secrets". Nick then teaches how it is possible to take some of these ingenious tools and techniques and put them into application in the business world. Each performance is unique and there is nothing comparable to it in the entire field of corporate entertainment.

When not traveling the world performing and lecturing Lewin makes his home in Austin, Texas with his wife. He enjoys his extensive library and the impressive movie collection that he has gathered over the years. Nick writes a weekly and a monthly column on the art of magic. He is currently working on a sequel to his murder mystery book "Sleight of Crime" which was published by Henry Regnery of Chicago. Nick's other hobbies include translating the lyrics of Bob Dylan into the English language and spoiling Georgi Ivanovich his silly little dog.
